Spellchecker. For Information. One proven cause for it becoming non operational.

I’m posting this for information only. I’ve been puzzled at the apparent “breaking” of the spellchecker in LibreOffice. I have found one definite cause… the restoring of a system disk image made with Acronis. Inexplicably the restored image always leaves the spellchecker as non functioning. The fix is as has been documented in these pages. Navigate to and delete the “Bundled” folder located here, c:\users\user name\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\extensions\

Make sure LibreOffice is closed before doing this. On restarting LibreOffice the folder will be recreated immediately.

I don’t know the reasons for this behaviour and whether other versions of Acronis have this issue or indeed whether any other backup program may do this.
