"SOLVED" Presentation of document

This is a problem I’ve been wrestling with for some time, with no success. It concerns how a document, new, or existing is presented on the screen. Rationally, I would expect a document to be presented as a vertically scrolling succession of pages. In my case, however, on opening a new or in most cases, an existing document. The first page is shown on the extreme right hand side of the screen. In a normally proportioned window, it may be largely out of view, althought the horizontal scrolling bar will bring it back into view. The second page of the document, however, instead of being immediately below the first, is below and to the extreme left hand side. The third page will be placed to its right and directly under the first page. I’ve no idea why two pages placed side by side should be considered a rational ordering. Particularly since i t does notapply to the first page. So far, Ive been unable to account for this, or to restore the presentation to a rational viwe. It may be something simple, but, so far, I,ve been unable to locate any option to restore the display to what I would consider a sensible view.
Cheers,
