version restrictions when filing a new bug via BSA
Fri, 13 Dec 2013 - 7:18 PM
Please be aware that up coming changes (QA meeting notes) to the Bug Submission Assistant (BSA) will mean that older End of Life (EOL) versions will not be displayed. This user-friendly interface is expected to be used for filing bugs against current versions. There are still numerous users on this forum reporting issues (here, and sometimes via the BSA) with the v3.x and v4.0.x series, all of which are now EOL, so please be aware of this.
While in certain circumstances a bug fix is backported to a slightly older version, this is usually restricted to one major release backward at most and only where the series is still ongoing i.e., prior to the cut-off date for the final x.x.6 or x.x.7 release. It will be highly unlikely for an older version to receive a bug fix.
