Hey! This is my first thread here. I have a big problem, today I finally ended my long school project in Libreoffice. But now when I open it a little later the text is only made of #, # is everywhere. Any ideas? I really need your help!!

File Manager
If you are using Windows then the inbuilt File Manager is Windows Explorer. You can open the file directly from the file manager by double clicking on it. This might not work. Is it possible to recreate the problem with a separate small sample document and post it here?

Sorry, no success. I’ve tried
Sorry, no success. I’ve tried opening from Windows Explorer and from LO 3.6.5 and get the same result as you. When trying to open the file with the Quickstarter I get a ‘Text Import’ window which then goes to Calc with an empty sheet. Trying LO 3.3 and OpenOffice 3.4, I get an ASCII filter options box, and the the same as you. I’ve tried changing options with no good result.
If you had the ‘backup copy’ option ticked you might look for a backup copy which might work. You should be able to tell where it is from Tools – Options – LibreOffice – Paths. It will have a .bak filetype.
If it helps anybody else when opening with Word I get ÿÿÿÿÿ instead of ####!
Sorry
Chris
