Hi, I’m new to this forum, and would like to propose a small suggestion concerning creating an account here, if I may.

Would it be possible, above the captcha for new account creation, to mention: “Copy the word in the middle of the garbage below” or something of the sort? Now it just says “Copy the word below”, or something, which isn’t clear (to certain brains at least, like mine Smile )

It may sound stupid and probably is, but first I copied the whole garbage (copy-paste), which didn’t work. Then I copied by hand (well, you never know, right?) the whole garbage Laughing out loud , then I thought “well, the thing is broken” (being used to a garbled image instead of ASCII captcha).
I’m not the only one puzzled, see for instance this question. (And since you can’t post a topic about the forum problem of a forum to which you can’t register, nor contact the admin, who knows how many more give up and you never hear of?)

Maybe a small change, as proposed, might help? (Or is it a kind of IQ-test, filtering forum members Wink ? )

I agree
I agree My prompt for captcha on both chrome and firefox was )&(^%*&$^@%!!@#$%(% LOG )&(^%*&$^@%!!@#$%(%: RECAPTCHA would be easier, familiar, and still free. Or have you had problems with it? The setup’s unfriendliness may be cutting into your donations.
