Un problema non è un problema se la soluzione è semplice, questo volevo dire:
Se poi il problema è che Safari lo deve fare lui e non con estensioni/applicazioni, quello sì che è un problema.

Perché nessuno si lamenta se per le ads bisogna usare AdsBlock, per le dimensioni oggetti MeasureIt, per lo sviluppo web Firebug?
E invece lo fa se per scaricare da Youtube, che non sarebbe consentito perché YouTube non vorrebbe, deve usare un tube downloader?
Perché la Apple dovrebbe installare di default una caratteristica che viola le regole?

Che poi lo facciano tutti è un'altra cosa, come pure che dette regole sono una pretesa poco fondata.

La Apple, che non è un mostro di simpatia, ci da Anteprima, Safari, Text Edit, iTunes e un sacco di altre cose.
Non ci da, per esempio un client torrent, ma nessuno si lamenta.

Se mi serve monto Transmission o che altro, e finisce qui.
La Apple mi sta sulle palle come prima, ma non per questo.
Io ho risolto il problema.

Questo lo so Faxus.
Ovviamente non devi dimostrare nulla a nessuno, è solo che alla tua precedente battuta "Il vostro problema è che non avete un Mac con Safari" avevo voluto replicare sullo stesso tono scherzoso.
Tra l'altro (se può ancora interessare) malgrado come già specificato YouTube cerchi di impedirlo e malgrado ci abbiano privato della mitica finestra "Attività", è ancora possibile scaricare video anche da YouTube usando il solo Safari, senza che ci sia bisogno di appoggiarci a "stampelle" esterne.
In fondo, questo è sempre stato un motivo in più per gli utenti Mac per guardare dall'alto in basso gli utenti dei sistemi operativi inferiori.




P. S.: Dimenticavo (battuta per battuta): se sei capace di scaricare un video da YouTube con wget ti regalo la mia melina d'oro.

adesso che ci penso...
l'ho fatto e quindi funziona, anche su smartphone con Android
(con DownloadHelper estensione Firefox)

Sai bene che è uno short.
E wget ti restituirà solo il testuale di rinvio.

Ma lo short si decodifica con uno script, occhio alla melina...
Perché dopo decodificato wget te lo scarica

L'avevo controllato credo un'ora fa e ancora non c'era
