Uninstalling DisplayPad WORKED!
You have to delete two files under /System/Library/Extensions :
- DisplayPadDriver.kext
- DisplayPadFrameBuffer.kext
Then delete the app in your application folder. Restart and voila!
NOTE : I also ran the script to uninstall AirDisplay (spotlight it) so maybe it's this one that was causing the issue.
Most excellent diagnosis! After reinstalling/deleting some stray third-party kxts, all was fixed. Specifically, I deleted my Xbox 360 Controller compatibility kxt and my DisplayLink Driver kxt. I think the DisplayLink Driver did it though. Interesting.
My problems started after trying AirParrot, but I uninstalled it after the trail. I removed it using CleanMyMac, but for some reason the APExtFramebuffer.kext was left behind..
Manually deleting the file from \System\Library\Extensions fixed the problem!
So, if you tried AirParrot, remember to delete both files:
AirParrotDriver.kext
APExtFramebuffer.kext
If you have issues dragging, uninstall Air Display and / or AirParrot.
There's a good chance that you will be good after that.

Go to [HD]\System\Library\Extensions
sudo rm -r AirParrotDriver.kext/
sudo rm -r APExtFramebuffer.kext/
otherwise sleep / wakeup method is working for me as well

For me it was a driver for a 3rd-party USB External Display adapter ("DisplayLink.kext"). Uninstalling did the trick!
Deleting the screensharing program (in my case iscreen, guess airdisplay, etc are the same) did solve all my issues -- as mentioned before drag and drop did not work, white screen in several programs, not menu bar in full screen, etc.
Lion is now running smoothly - so everybody having the same issue just delete airdisplay and co)))))
non so se avete installato qualcosa del genere, però un'occhiatina io ce la darei.... e, magari, fateci sapere!
Robertos non so come ringraziarti!! Sono settimane che giro in internet per cercare risposte senza averle mai trovate! Avevo lo stesso problema, in particolare avevo installato Air Parrots e disinstallandolo ho risolto il tremendo problema del drag&drop!
