Riassunto delle precedenti puntate....

Dal 2007 fino a settembre 2015 il mio iMac non ha dato problemi e non ha mai avuto software per ottimizzare, antivirus ecc...ecc....
Esattamente il 09/09/15 si sono manifestati i primi blocchi e, tempo un paio di settimane, ho deciso di aggiornare HDD e RAM
pensando fossero loro la causa.
Dopo questo upgrade il problema è notevolmente diminuito ma non è scomparso. Formattazioni e reset vari sono stati inutili.
CleanMyMac, AVG, Avast ecc...li ho installita da meno di una settimana.
Stasera pendo di rimuovere tutto e poi vi aggiorno.

Da' tutta l'idea di essere un problema hardware. Io lo porterei all'assistenza Apple.

L'hardware test non fa testo :D . Tantomeno su un problema "random" come sembra il tuo. Adesso va, tra 4 minuti una saldatura perde il contatto... Assistenza!

Sinceramente dopo aver messo un SSD (e che SSD), aggiunto 2 GB di ram, eseguito tutti i reset, installato da zero SO, continui ad avere problemi, non può essere che un problema hardware.
Per cui ti consiglio di portarlo in assistenza.

Non ci sono test che si possono fare da casa per verificare eventuali problemi hardware.
L'unica è... portarlo in assistenza.

Prova anche con FindAnyFile, è già capitato che quel che non trova l'uno (EasyFind) lo trovasse l'altro; o viceversa.

P.S.: seleziona anche Show hidden come mostrato nell'immagine sul suo sito.
Hai provato, come già detto, a togliere il nuovo modulo di RAM, lasciando quello originale?
Se funziona, non aggiustarlo.

La ricerca non deve essere dettagliata ma generica, cerca solo AVAST (per esempio).

Dal 2007 ad oggi mai fatto un check della File System, una pulizia del sistema, prima di cambiare il disco bisogna fare un check approfondito del sistema, onde evitare di portarsi dietro eventuali schifezze e problemi.

Ha ben 3 antivirus installati e salvo AdwareMedic che lo fai girare tu a mano gli altri servono a niente a meno di comportamenti molto scorretti.
Prima di pensare ad un guasto hardware proverei a partire da un disco esterno con un sistema pulito se il problema persiste allora si puo pensare ad un guasto hardware,
Per ogni problema complesso, c'è sempre una soluzione semplice.
