Imac 5K late 2014, verificare problemi hardware

Ciao a tutti,
come ho scritto in un altro post, dalla ditta dove lavoro sono riuscito a procurarmi un Imac 5K Retina Late 2014, carrozzato al massimo.
Mi hanno detto che avrebbe un problema per cui rallentava tutto ed ipotizzavano un qualcosa all' HD, che in questo Imac è costituito da un SSD Blade da 128 GB e da un HD da 3TB a 7200 rpm. Su un Imac analogo mandarono il computer in assistenza e lo ripararono per 600€.
Ho proceduto alla installazione di Sierra (poichè avevo letto post dove dicevano che High sierra e Fusion Drive non andavano d' accordo) e tutto è andato bene.
Ho anche creato una partizione bootcamp (ovviamente sul disco meccanico) e nonostante qualche problema iniziale, a posto anche lì.
Ieri mi sono messo ad usare Safari e la beach ball esce a raffica, con momenti in cu inchioda tutto il Mac.
Anche per fare l' uscita forzata da Safari devo attendere almeno un 30 secondi perchè si riprenda.
Al momento ho installato veramente poca roba, infatti con Firefox sembra funzionare.

Su un altro post con problemi analoghi di beach ball ho letto di :
- scaricare la versione di prova di SMART Utility e verificare le condizioni dell'hard disk
- scaricare EtreCheck Versione 3.4.7 e fare girare il report che vi allegherò.

Procedo così ?

Anche se non contiene SMART nel nome, DriveDX è migliore, analizza più parametri di SMART Utility, soprattutto alcuni che mostrano come un disco vecchio sia consumato, rallenti parecchio e stia per rompersi anche quando i parametri mostrati da SMART Utility sono tutti a posto.

Poi fate voi.

Ok, allora li proverà entrambi e poi farò anche il report di Etrecheck.
Ho una domanda: stavo pensando, se fosse il disco meccanico ad avere problemi, di aprire il Mac e sostituirlo con un bel SSD.
Perchè possono menarla con "quanto è bello il FusionDrive", ma i tempi di avvio e di lancio di applicazioni di un SSD puro se li scorda.
Quindi se potrei estrarre e mettere il 3TB meccanico e dentro un case esterno, giusto per lanciare la partizione bootcamp e tenerlo come archivio.
Io ho le USB3 e le ThunderBolt2, ma se volessi prendere un case per quest' ultimo, quali devo prendere ?
Ho visto alcuni con scritto ThunderBolt3 e non credo vadano bene.
Altri con scritto USB-C (o USB 3.1), ma non ho capito se funzioneranno o meno con le mie porte di seconda generazione...

Ho fatto i test con entrambe le utility e penso che il problema sia proprio sul disco meccanico.
Non ho capito perché lo chiama solo Boot Camp, probabilmente perché sente i 200 GB su 3000 GB della partizione Windows.
Ma anche l' SSD Blade non sta benissimo di suo, eh ! Secondo DriveDX.
Allego i report di DriveDX, poiché le immagini mi dice essere troppo grandi.

SSD da 128GB (unico problema mi sembra quel AVERAGE sulla vita del disco blade)

A questo punto mi sa che il problema sia proprio il disco meccanico.
Devo valutare se "operare" e rimpiazzarlo con un SSD da 1TB della Crucial oppure utilizzare un disco ThunderBolt2 (o USB3) esterno.
Rimango anche nel dubbio se non cambiare pure il SSD Blade dato quel AVERAGE nell' indicatore di vita rimasta.
Nel sito di Ifixit parlano di un particolare cavo da prendere per non fare andare le ventole a palla, ma ho letto dei post di fragrua che dice non servire più quel cavo dai Mac oltre il 2012.

Io toglierei lo SSD da 128G e lo sostituirei con un SSD da 1T.
Toglierei completamente il disco meccanico interno, in quanto aumenta il consumo ed il riscaldamento senza dare granché
e userei come memoria di massa una coppia di dischi meccanici grandi in RAID, chiaramente esterni.
Ognuno è come Dio lo ha fatto, ahimé...
...e spesso peggio.

Diciamo che non ho minimamente capito quale disco dovrei usare per sostituire quel SSD Blade... poi da altre parti ho letto che ha un attacco proprietario e serve un riduttore.
Quindi cosa ci dovrei mettere ???

Diventa più semplice sostituire solo il meccanico con un Crucial da 1 TB (oppure 2 TB), dato che non dovrebbe nemmeno richiedere il cavo sensori temperatura della OWC.
Poi stacco il fusion drive, o meglio reinstallo tutto senza mai abilitarlo, e lascio il 128 gb a vivacchiare.
La cosa più difficile di tutta l' operazione è togliere lo schermo senza romperlo.
Molti trafficano con carte e plettri, quelli di OWC lo sdraiano e vanno di ventose.

Sì, lo avevo già visto e me lo sto riguardando più volte al giorno, per memorizzare gli step e rivederli in qualche filmato su YT.
Lo rimozione dello schermo è la parte più delicata e sarà quella che approfondirò di più.
Poi qui c'è una scuola di pensiero differente, ovvero ti fanno montare il cavo della OWC per temperatura/ventole.
In molti non lo hanno montato e lo stesso fragrua dice che dai modelli 2012 in poi non serve, vedi

Data la difficile reperibilità di case esterni con ThundeBolt2 (proprio non ne trovo) temo che questa sarà l' unica strada percorribile.
Metterò un bel Crucial da 1TB al posto del disco meccanico, senza toccare il SSD Blade da 128 GB.

Comunque ho visto che si usa per allineare bene lo schermo e per testare che il nuovo ssd funzioni, prima di risigillare con le strip adesive.
A me preoccupa il primo scollamento, quello dopo la rotella.
È lì che ho letto che li rompono di più i vetri.

Ho fatto i test con entrambe le utility e penso che il problema sia proprio sul disco meccanico.
Non ho capito perché lo chiama solo Boot Camp, probabilmente perché sente i 200 GB su 3000 GB della partizione Windows.

A questo punto mi sa che il problema sia proprio il disco meccanico.
Devo valutare se "operare" e rimpiazzarlo con un SSD da 1TB della Crucial oppure utilizzare un disco ThunderBolt2 (o USB3) esterno.
Rimango anche nel dubbio se non cambiare pure il SSD Blade dato quel AVERAGE nell' indicatore di vita rimasta.
Nel sito di Ifixit parlano di un particolare cavo da prendere per non fare andare le ventole a palla, ma ho letto dei post di fragrua che dice non servire più quel cavo dai Mac oltre il 2012.
