LO CALC tool (or functionality) equivalent to MS Excel "Camera" tool

[Sorry if an existing thread/topic covers this – I hunted for ten minutes, didn’t find it.] Does LO Calc have any equivalent to Excel’s “Camera” tool, which lets you take a “snapshot” of a range of cells, and then paste that picture in a different place in the same sheet, or on any other sheet in the same workbook. One of the nicest features of this tool: being a picture, the snapshot data are shown as they appear in the source-range, independent of row/column widths in the target sheet. This is very handy when you need an inset “key”, e.g., defining single-character options in a database.

Thanks for the question,
Thanks for the question, Zizi64 — It certainly isn’t a copied cell-range. The “snap-shot” acts like an OLE object, or an inserted graphic object. You can stretch it or compress it using corner “handles”. The source-range stays the same, but the snapshot is flexible. You can’t revise data in the snapshot…but if you go to the source-range and revise the data, the snapshot will reflect the changes. If you insert a row or column in the middle of the source-range, or delete a row or column from the middle of the source-range, then these changes will also be reflected in the snapshot, but the dimensions of the snapshot remain the same. Think of the snapshot as a dynamic view of the source-range, with a fixed “frame”. If you delete rows/columns, the data in the snapshot will expand to fill the fixed frame. If you add rows/columns, the data in the snapshot will shrink to fit into the fixed frame. Of course, you can then use the snapshot-frame’s handles to expand or contract it to fit the revised amount of data. It is an amazingly useful tool. It truly is a “window” into the source-range.

I think there is not such feature in the LibreOffice or in the Apache OpenOffice.
I never used that function in Excel, and I never heard about it.
Was the result a Picture (pixelgraphic image) really in the Excel, or it was a copyed cellrange (with pure result data, but without the working formulas)?
