Delete tmp files?

Using LO 5.1.3.1 on Mac OS El Capitan

My 4/user/temp directory contains 95 folders with a total of 1300 items going back 3 years.
Can I safely delete all of the .tmp items?

Generally these files in that location can safely be removed. Make sure LO is not running at the time of removal and perhaps take a backup of the user profile beforehand. My post here is related: http://en.libreofficeforum.org/node/5808#comment-24497
