Amnesia: Why does LibreOffice Writer not remember my settings?

It keeps on showing things I’ve disabled the last time I had it opened. What am I doing wrong? You’d think the program would remember your last settings. Do I need to create a default template?

What, specifically, is being displayed? There are a number of open bugs related to effectively storing state information e.g., settings in the sidebar. These are known and being addressed but more detail is required to determine what your problem is. Thanks.

If I disable toolbars and the side bar I don’t expect to see them tomorrow. Also it always opens in Normal View and I never use that ever. Always Web View. I thought it would remember the previous settings.
