Formulas disappearing

Hello, I’m studying engineering and really enjoying the formula editor, allows me to write on the fly. The only problem is that many times after I finish writing the formula, I write a few more lines of text, the formula gets deformed and then when I double click it it disappears. Control Z doesn’t bring it back. I’ve recently updated to vers 5.0.5.2, the problem was also present in the previous release. I’m attaching a photo of a deformed formula and a formula that disappeared. It just leaves an empty “box” (second line). I copy and paste the contents of the formula next to every formula I write so that when it disappears I can restore it.

Any information I could add to make more sense of this problem? It’s getting more and more difficult to work this way
