Hi all!

I have a MacBook Pro and I’m running the latest version of LibreOffice. I’m trying to use a Combo Box in a data sheet form but I can’t get it to work. What do I need to do?

Thanks in advance!

Aside from drawing it on the form and following the wizard (turn on if off) not sure how to help. You have stated nothing of what is happening. What are you trying to do with this control? How is it reacting?

I created a new form via the Wizard using the Company Info table. I saved it in datasheet format. I wanted a Combo Box in the State column. I selected the State column header. Then I replaced the original text field on the datasheet with a Combo Box. The Combo Box wizard was on but it did not appear on my screen. I went in to the properties of the Combo Box and tried to set things up. Very few property options appeared.

What I’m wanting to do is to bring up a list of states in the Combo Box (from the State Info table) and select the necessary state abbreviation to be placed into the State field/column of the Company Info table for that record/table entry. The State Info table contains three fields/columns: the ID/Primary Key, the state abbreviation, and the full names of the states. The ID/Primary Key of the State Info table is also in the Company Info table as a foreign key so I could set up the State relationship.

I also created a form (not using the Wizard) and manually put the fields on the form. This version of the form is NOT a datasheet. I selected the State field as a Combo Box. The Wizard appeared and everything worked as it should.

I can’t get things to work with the datasheet style form. I’m wondering if there are issues with Combo Boxes and the datasheet style form.

I hope I explained things well enough. If you have any questions please reply to this thread.

Thanks in advance!

Filtering
Based upon you information, filtering is the problem. Before proceeding, datasheet is a very confusing term. What I believe you are referring to is a Table Control. Now for filtering, I’ve attached a very crude sample of what I believe you are looking for. Select form Bike2, choose an item from the id_Bike Listbox, click on the button ( answer Yes to the ‘Save record’ message) and the results are displayed in both text boxes and the table control. Again a crude form. More on filtering can be viewed here: Filters
