This is a minor inconvenience, but sort of insidiously maddening. I’m on a Windows 8.1 laptop.

I’ve got a pair of bluetooth headphones with media control built into one of the ears (Parrot Ziks, though don’t think it matters), and the controls don’t work if I have LibreOffice open. That is, I’m playing music from Spotify/any music player, but I can’t skip ahead/back or stop the track. Bizarrely, I can affect the volume.

This only happens when I have LibreOffice active. If it’s in the background, the controls work. If any other program is active, the controls work. I had the same problem with OpenOffice, before I switched last year. But it’s only now really gotten to me.

Anyway, I’m at a loss. My diagnosis is that LibreOffice is hijacking the bluetooth controls. Though they don’t appear to have any noticeable effect on my documents. My hope is there is some obscure function I can disable.

Thanks in advance.

interesting
Evidently LO has a bluetooth listener / server class (refer bug tdf#58545 for example). It may be buggy. Perhaps try v5.x to see if the fix to tdf#92537 has improved things.
