LO suddenly won't open; why and what to do?

My first startup after the LO Writer froze and I shutdown was normal, so far as I could see. My second startup a few hours later involved 19 Windows updates. The updates did not cure my LO opening problem. I cannot open LO either by trying to open LO, LO Writer or LO Calc or by trying to open an LO file directly from a search box. Trying to Run as Administrator doesn’t work either.

LO loads OK, I think. I see the LO Loading Box with the big white 5 in the big green square at the right side of the loading box, and the loading bar scrolls all the way to the right, so LO should be loaded, right?

But I still can’t open it.

Any suggestions?
