Visio Support
I have been scouring the net trying to figure out why I can not open Visio stencils in Draw, even though it is mentioned in a few places that it is possible. I can open Visio drawings, although editing is a bit tricky, but when trying to open a stencil I just get a blank page.
I’m using Draw for business use and trying to “convert” the other guys at the office so that we can standardise on a format. Our drawings are generally very basic, which is why I’m not going for the CAD option, but one big thing the boss is fussy about is using manufacturer stencils (Cisco, Axis etc.).
Any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks.
PS. I’m running LO 4.4.5.2 (OS X 10.11)
I attached one of the stencils … renamed the extension to .odg otherwise I can’t upload it (should be .vss)
Attachment | Size |
---|---|
Interfaces and Modules - HWICs.odg | 53.5 KB |
(I have tried other Visio extensions (vsd, vsdx, vdx): all of them displayed as an empty page is my MS Visio Viewer 2010.)
This wouldn’t have bothered me much if it wasn’t for the fact I have read others have been able to do it
Thanks.
The stencils were downloaded from the manufacturers sites so I have no clue what version they used to make them.
The stencil I attached was Cisco “interfaces and modules …”. There are three devices shown with RJ45 sockets. I have also downloaded stuff from www.visiocafe.com
There was also a minor improvement in the v4.4 release.
