Installed libreoffice-fresh, replaced it with libreoffice-still (in arch linux) but in neither case does libreoffice show up in /home/.config. Therefore it can only be started by root. How to fix this?

Meaning what?
Why would anything show up in /home/.config? The settings are in /home/username/.config/libreoffice (or /home/username/.config/libreofficedev) instead.

Sorry, I should have written
Sorry, I should have written /home/username/.config or perhaps $HOME/.config. The question is why doesn’t LibreOffice put an entry into .config on installation?

First launch
The directory and its contents are normally created on a first launch.

No libreoffice in user_name/.config
dg333: That’s what I understood, if by “first launch” you mean opening libreoffice after installation. But it is not happening – that’s my problem, and why I am asking how to fix it.

no libreoffice in username/.conf
$ uname -r: 4.1.6-1-ARCH

$ ls .config:
openbox
tint2

That’s all that appears in .config: no libreoffice, also no thunar (which also should be there). They are both installed:

$ pacman -Ss libreoffice-still
extra/libreoffice-still 4.4.5-2 [installed] LibreOffice maintenance branch
extra/libreoffice-still-af 4.4.5-2 Afrikaans language pack for LibreOffice still

(and 100+ otherlanguage packs)

$ pacman -Ss thunar
extra/thunar 1.6.10-2 (xfce4) [installed] Modern file manager for Xfce
extra/thunar-archive-plugin 0.3.1-5 (xfce4-goodies) Create and extract archives in Thunar
extra/thunar-media-tags-plugin 0.2.1-2 (xfce4-goodies) Adds special features for media files to the Thunar File Manager
extra/thunar-volman 0.8.1-1 (xfce4) Automatic management of removeable devices in Thunar+ig+++
