Hello,

I’m having trouble using OpenSymbol font with Libre Office on Linux because when I set this font the characters aren’t shown but substituted with empty rectangles.
This problem is ocurring only on Linux, on Windows it works as expected.
I have tried on Ubuntu 14.04, 13.10 and on a freshly installed Mint 17.1 but the result is the same.
I checked and the font looks installed.

Has anyone ever incurred in this and know how to solve this issue?

Related to old known bugs?
Sometimes similar problems occurred with 4.2.y versions also on Windows. What is the LibreOffice version you installed? Did you already try 4.4.3? Did you already check the LibreOffice font replacement table? Do all the characters with font OpenSymbol show wrongly?

Did you already try to access the font – the characters displaying wrongly – from another application (not installing it on its own in a specific way) than LibreOffice? Did you already try to explicitly install (regarding the OS) OpenSymbol (from this location) again as accessible for all users?

Currently installed: LibO V5.1.2 on Windows 10

My bad
Thanks to your suggestions, I found that only letters and numbers are shown incorrectly on Linux, the actual symbols are fine. This put me off path because on Windows when an alphanumeric key is pressed the characters are shown correctly.

Thank you again
