Difficult question, social media are generally optimized for mobile use. Their desktop version is usually a reduced one (e.g. no stories on Instagram and so on)

Your question doesn't make sense, sorry. I guess if you're asking for the battery consumption side or paying attention to the most effective at all. The Social Network you choice it's just the one which suits better on you. It depends on plenty factors... How many friends have joined a platform instead of another for example and actually you're locked in by other one's choice. All my friends use WhatsApp for messaging, for example even if it's the worst of all (perhaps compared to Telegram or Snapchat), but I have to use it if I want to interface with them.

Ok I could give you my feedback. I use Twitter, It runs smoothly under your browser and the same in the app, the users are not used to load heavy media content (which means you're definitively wasting my time and broadband datas...). Twitter is zen and you can easily develop the ability to pass over the needless content the others share.

Below this... smoking signals, cheap, battery saver, more or less International.
