High Sierra su iMac 24" inizio 2009 MB418

buongiorno
dopo aver letto alcune discussioni sul forum ho pensato fosse utile postare anche un etrecheck.

Da premettere che ho deciso di scrivere perché subito dopo aver installato snow leopard da dvd (allegato al mac in fase di acquisto)
e successivamente "Mavericks" ed in seguito "high sierra" con patcher (http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/)
il backup di time machine mi risulta davvero lentissimo.

Da quando ho installato high sierra (24 ore fa) ho fatto ben poco per incasinare il mac (almeno spero)...
ho ricostruito la libreria di foto tramite il comando di foto (dopo averla copiata dall'hdd esterno dove avevo time machine) ed adesso funziona
installato alcuni software tipo vlc, utorrent, rar5.9, epub converter.
scaricato ieri cleanmymac e disinstallato cleanmymac da pochi minuti (dopo aver letto alcune discussioni sul forum)

È diventato un software fuffa, poco utile e la versione Pro persino commerciale.

Il problema è che hai installato High Sierra su un HD meccanico con filesystem Hfs+..

Un disco di 11 anni di vita, inadatto ad High Sierra che possibilmente ha bisogno di un SSD con filesystem APFS.
Che poi quel disco, anche in condizioni perfette, ma che sicuramente non ha, è almeno logoro.
Cioè, ammesso che non abbia settori compromessi, va ad una velocità a dir poco al 50% di quando era nuovo.

In più, ancora, High Sierra gli ha detto una bella botta, mettendolo ulteriormente in crisi.

Tutto qui.
Il software non ha nulla, a parte quell'ignobile, inutile e dannosa porcheria dal nome CleanMyMac X.
Disinstallata malissimo, sta ancora tutta lì, a dimostrare che è fatta male di proposito.
Che per quanto dannosa non può provocarti il problema che denunci.

Quindi:
1) o usi il disco esterno SSD per installarci High Sierra
2) o sostituisci il disco interno con un SSD
NB: aggiungendo, in entrambe i casi, almeno 4GB di ram, altrimenti non vai da nessuna parte con soli 4GH e High Sierra

Come nota posso aggiungere che se riesce a fare un backup in quelle condizioni, è già un miracolo

Faccio tesoro di queste indicazioni che mi hai dato.

Oltre a sostituire quanto prima con un ssd (non ho ancora deciso la capienza), avevo intenzione da tempo di prendere 2 ram da 4gb per espandere da 4 a 8.
A tale proposito vorrei fugare 2 dubbi (spero di non andare off-topic):
1 su un eCommerce ho letto che offrono la possibilità di sostituire il mio HDD con un SSD + adattatore, in aggiunta al mio vecchio Hard Disk esistente. Pongo questo quesito perché mi sembra una cosa stranissima che il mio iMac riesca ad ospitare 2 hdd. Quindi sono propenso a pensare di aver capito male io. Illuminatemi.
2 vorrei chiedere se qualche membro del forum ha acquistato le ram a "buon prezzo" che si trovano su aliexpress e se qualcuno mi sconsiglia questo acquisto.

Certo ci vuole l'adattatore, perché il disco attuale è 3,5" e gli SSD sono 2,5".

In teoria potresti metterci del nastro biadesivo.
Ma un adattatore costa 10 euro...

Puoi anche metterlo a posto del Superdrive.
Ma ti complichi la vita, per altre cose.

Quel vecchio HD, al massimo potrai usarlo come disco di scorta per altre cose, in un case esterno.

Ti consiglio in Italia, per entrambi, SSD e ram.

Su Amazon il prezzo è tra i più bassi.
Ce l'hai subito e te li sostituiscono anche senza motivo
